Hoot Hoot 03:11
I tell myself that I'm alright And nothing can get in my way tonight Negative thinking won't leave me alone But there's no time for that Let's go go go Check my phone and it's alright Man that thing's never out of my sight Throw it away or just leave it at home There's no time to lose Let's go go go Well it's a Hoot Hoot, Hoot on my horn Drinking my drink and away I'm gone Well it's a poop poop gonna pick up sticks I'm on the corner of anxious and 66 Well it's a ring ring, where you at? Shuffledown street? I never heard of that Pump pump better get there quick I'm on the corner of anxious and 66 Got one train but I got it wrong Got off at wrong stop and 71 Looking around for a place that I know Nothing around I got to go go go Looking out for streets and signs Man o man it's one hell of a night Turning around I think I see my road No time to check Let's go go go

Hot black coffee and cigarettes In the morning it's the best Time to wake up Hot black coffee and cigarettes Every day when I wake up I have a smoke and drink a cup

Lying awake trying to sleep But I can't relax cos I'm counting the sheep And they're all running off everywhere And I can't count them all, I'm too tired to care La de da la de da da da la de da de da da I'm too tired to care So I'm walking around half asleep And I can't relax cos I'm counting the sheep Cos they've all buggered off everywhere And I can't count them all, I'm too tired to care La de da la de da da da la de da de da da I'm too tired to care

I got some tasty enchiladas waiting in the fridge And a box of cabernet red wine I'll watch a documentary to get some fresh knowledge Today it started bad but turned out fine I'll maybe take a walk to get myself some cigarettes And stop for coffee if I've got the time I'll do some drawings of some elephants in jumbo jets Then write a song or two to pass the time A good day to do all ,my favorite things Today, I'll do all of my favorite things I'm telling all my friends we're going to the Shakespeare's head We're gonna talk about the universe I found a tenner and a mushroom down the back of my bed I pick them up and put them in my purse I'm gonna call my girl and talk to her before I go She's gonna meet us with a friend of three I got no money but I'm ready and that's all I know Against all odds and probability A good day to do all of my favorite things Today, I'll do all of my favorite things

When I look at the sky I ask myself why Why on earth are we here? It just blows my mind Cos we're so little little little little little little Little little little little little little When I open my eyes I look at the sky When I swim in the sea, there's nothing but me Floating just like a boat I'm feeling so free And I'm so little little little little little little Little little little little little little When I swim in the sea, there's nothing but me

In a big balloon above the sea You and me I can see your house. Can you see? I wish to be long ago when all was green And Dinosaurs were real The future's there, it can't be seen But Dinosaurs were real On a flying frog through the trees You and me Holding on so tight around my waste I wish to be long ago when all was green And Dinosaurs were real The future's there, it can't be seen But Dinosaurs were real

I got some problems but I'll fix them one by one I'll take some pills and then I'll walk into the sun You'll see a change in me and happiness will come Yes! I'll fix things one by one I'll keep you posted, yes, I'll keep you in the loop I'll do some talking with the others in my group I'll learn to keep it all together in my mind Yes! I'll fix things one by one And I'll walk into the sun And happiness will come And our problems will be gone I'll get you naked and we'll do the job at hand We'll draw some pictures and we'll lie down on the sand We'll write some songs and we can start a little band Yes! I'll fix things one by one I'll buy some lemons and I'll make you lemonade And you can lie down on me underneath the shade I'll learn to keep it all together in my brain Yes! I'll fix things one by one And I'll walk into the sun And happiness will come And our problems will be gone

about

I went to Scotland for a week and lived in a cottage which had a recording studio attached to it. I had to learn how to use the mixing desk as there was no technician, just me, the desk and huge room full of microphones, leads and musical instruments.

I wrote songs late at night and then woke up early the next morning to start recording all the different parts. Recording in a proper studio with a mixing desk changed the way I wrote songs. I think the songs are more structured because I had to figure out the parts for the different instruments before recording, whereas previously, I have made things up on the spot and cut and paste to make it work. I had no idea how to do that in this setting.

So I wrote lyrics down for the first time ever, learned parts by playing them over and over again, and tried to get the best sound for each track. I hardly slept, it was a totally immersive experience. So much fun.
